Covid-19 Invasing our body
Dormant, attacking, invasing our body,
and now destroying us from inside out.
Attacking our lungs, our health,
our nervous system, our will to live.
Destroying our economy, our jobs,
our ability to buy food for ourselves,
to keep our houses warm,
during the winter that is lurking menacingly,
behind each corner, each breath.
Mouth masks seen everywhere on the streets,
Social distancing in public places,
difficulties to breath the air and see
where we are going today.
And hand in hand with mental issues,
this chaos in our lives,
drama in our families, in our head,
death, and loneliness around us,
now everyday depressed, please virus, go away.
Covid-19 ons lichaam binnendringend
Sluimerend, aanvallend, ons lichaam binnendringend,
en ons aan het vernietigen van binnenuit.
Onze longen aanvallend, onze gezondheid,
ons zenuwstelsel, onze wil om te leven.
Onze economie vernietigend, onze banen,
ons vermogen voedsel voor onszelf te kopen,
onze huizen warm te houden,
tijdens de winter, die op loer ligt,
achter elke hoek, elke ademhaling.
Mondmaskers zijn overal te zien op straat,
sociale afstand op openbare plaatsen.
Moeilijkheden om de lucht in te ademen
moeilijkheden te zien waar gaan.
Hand in hand met zware mentale problemen,
deze chaos in ons leven,
drama in ons gezin, in ons hoofd,
dood en eenzaamheid rondom ons,
elke dag depressief, alsjeblieft virus, ga weg.
